Wedding Make Up: what is that, exactly?
There always seems to be quite confusion or too much thought put into this look, which then results in the bride being uncomfortable in her own skin. The confusion lies within the media, telling us that we need the ultimate “contour map” to properly define our cheekbones, a sultry smokey eye for the Kim Kardashian look, and a “perfect” red lip for the most kissable lips.

Now, do not get me wrong; I have absolutely no problem with any of these looks, they all are quite fabulous and fun to create (with the exception of the contour map, as I believe in a simpler way to define and highlight) ! Especially the “perfect” red lip, which can be quite gorgeous for your big day.

However, doing all of them combined for a dramatic look? Creating something that doesn’t look like you?

Ladies, read carefully: you may have your make up done however you choose, I am not here to judge whatever you may choose. I simply want to-well, simplify things for you!

I will begin with this: you are already beautiful, your fiance thinks so too. So, when it comes to my brides,  I always will create a look that resembles the beauty and love from within-and is, without a doubt,  absolutely romantic and is true to you.

As I sat Alison down for her “trial,” I first asked her about her theme for her dream wedding. She described more of a beach theme,  which would be soft with light golds. It was enough inspiration to perfect her complexion,  which did not take much work, but I needed to dig more for the rest of her look.

I then asked her to play me her ideal wedding playlist. It was all romantic,  soft acoustic tunes; perfect for a beach wedding, which had then inspired me to use natural – rosey tones to bring out the inner beauty and romance, resulting in perfection and satisfaction!

The same result for Evelyn – I truly wanted to bring out the inner beauty without having to make her unrecognizable. However, what I loved about creating Evelyn’s wedding look was that it was not just romantically inspired, but inspired by the pure joy that was within her! It is always amazing if you can really capture something so pure,  which I think is vital to your wedding day.

Now, if you do want to add just a pinch of drama, the best way to do so would be an elegant winged liner, or even deepening the corner of the crease:

I also always encourage playing with looks as early as you’d like. I typically have done as early as a month to just two weeks before the big day.

Essentially, the message I bring to you, my brides,  is that you should walk down the Isle looking radiantly in love. Every artist will have different techniques,  this is simply mine. So, here’s to you, all of you beautiful brides and future brides out there!
